Type Locality and Naming
Named after the village of Mizat, Tajikistan. O.N. Nikitina et al. in 1993 (460, p. 36-37). Stratotype near the village of Mizat, along the Tupolangdarya River.
Synonym: Mizat Suite, Мизатская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Crystalline schists: biotite, cordierite-biotite, amphibole-biotite, plagiogneisses with lenses of garnet quartzites and amphibolites. Thickness: 700m.

Lower contact
Underlying formations are unknown
Upper contact
Overlain with angular unconformity by the Urakh Fm.
Regional extent
Core part of the Tupolang Anticline (Tajikistan). In Uzbekistan, in the Southwest Gissar, Urakh Ridge.
